Buccaneers get Thunderstruck 31-14.
Chicago- This was not the Buccaneers team we are, said Head Coach Michael Almodovar. The Buccaneers had been awaiting a very long time for the rematch of the game from last year. Their defense had their first crack on the opening kick off, and being on defense first. The Buccaneers were going to prove to the Thunder on this day, that they belong in this league and level of play. The Buccaneers defense gave up a quick touchdown on the Thunders first possession and never looked back. The offense struggled all afternoon until late in fourth quarter and was not able to sustain a long drive. The offense was not its self said young quarterback #7 Ron Dube. I forced a lot passes and I take blame for that, and that's no excuse exclaimed Dube. This is my team and I have to be the leader that everyone wants me to be. The offense was missing # 85 Rookie Wide Out Nate McCullum , and veteran Wide Out #11 Chad Walker. The offensive line did every thing that they could to give Dube time said Veteran Lineman # 66 JP Carroll and Veteran lineman #57 Robert Earl Leasure, who had made a crucial block for #20 runningback Tim Mackessy on botched running play that earned him the longest carry from scrimmage for the Buccaneers offense. Veteran strong safety # 40 Eric Zinzer was the first to comment from the defense saying that Thunder was not all that tough, and that we've played tougher games and tougher opponents. The Buccaneers defense did something to the Thunder team that no other team has done all season, which was force 6 turnovers. Coach Mike said after the game if you add those points up we should of had 42 points off those miscues by the Thunder. The defense played their hearts out for the team holding the Thunder to 17 points in the first half of play. What can you say to those guys on the other side of the ball (Buccaneers Defense) said Mike Ingram. Those guys played harder than they had ever played all season, and we on the other side of the ball including myself didn't help to pick them up. Ingram who had fumbled the ball in the second quarter near the Bucs own goal line took blame for his fumble, but the defense who had just got the ball back for the offense gave them (Thunder) the ball right back. I have no excuses I took my eyes off the ball and was more worried about getting us out of our own endzone, but still that is no excuse and I'm a veteran and I know better Ingram said. The Buccaneers defense would hold only allowing a field goal. The defensive standouts in this game was the entire defense # 99 Shane Carroll , 97 Dave Martinez, 95 Kendal Patterson, 94 Chris Reid, 90 Tim Caldwell, 84 Chris Gulano, 79 Mike Brown, 55 Matt Layton, 52, John Anderson, 45 Jay Cox, 40 Eric Zinzer, 33 Matt Holt, 32 Joshua Jackson, 31 Garrick Strong, 29 Navin Linzy, 17 Phil Washington, 12 Demetrius Gibson, 9 John Hall. The next game for the Buccaneers will Saturday night at Joliet Memorial Stadium September 22, as the Buccaneers host the Mid-State Steel (Peoria, IL)

Buccaneers are #1 in the East
Joliet- What we play? Buc Ball, What we play? Buc Ball, echoed the muggy night air in Joliet, as the Buccaneers (4-1) 6-3 overall beat the visiting Indianapolis Sabers 34 -28 in a come from behind victory. The Buccaneers at home again fell behind early allowing the Sabers to score on their second possession, then again on their third and forth of the half. The Bucs didn't get on the board until late in the second quarter cutting into the Sabers 20-0 lead, when # 7 QB Ron Dube hooked up with # 12 WR Demetrius Gibson for 1 of his two touchdowns on the evening for a 26 yard pass, and later for 36. At the half the buccaneers made their comeback as they held the Sabers to 8 points in the second half, and forcing the Sabers into 3 turnovers and 3 three and outs. The biggest event of the night was # 20 KR Tim Mackessy's 92 yard kickoff return for a touchdown, which was the longest in team history and possibly MSFL History; also scoring for the Bucs was # 24 RB Michael Ingram, runningback # 28 Alfonzo Medina and Buccaneers scored 27 unanswered points to win the game. The Bolingbrook Buccaneers who have been playing great football over this last month, have indeed virtually signed a one way ticket to the playoffs. With three teams remaining in the Eastern Division of the MSFL, the timely departure of the Ft. Wayne Flyers had made the Eastern Division a more complicated. The game with the Sabers was the battle for the number 1 spot, meaning if the Buccaneers win, the path to the East rolls through Joliet.

Bucs Heroics didn't Help.
Downers Grove- Frustration is the only words that fill the night air at Doerhoefer Field, as the Buccaneers tried to over come a 22 point defict going into half-time. The only thing on the Buccaneer's minds was last week as they erased a 14 point lead by the Steelers. The defense had come out to explode with vengeance as they forced the Lions to go 3 and out, and on the assuing kick return man #12 Demetrius Gibson sparked the show with a beautiful 76 yard return that started with him being hit and looking as though he was going down; but ended with him racing down the sideline for a touch down. Bucs failed on a conversion to cut into the lead 22-6. The lions roared back with an answer of their own, going up 29-6. The Buccaneers weren't to be out done, as Quarterback # 7 Ron Dube hit # 85 Nate McCullum on a 65 yard pass getting the Buccaneers to the 2 yard line. 3 plays later after 3 penalties; 2 by the Lions and 1 on the Bucs. The Buccaneers were faced with a 4 and goal. Quarterback Dube made a great toss to # 85 Nate McCullum for the second touchdown of the evening getting right back into the game. The extra point was good making the score 29-13 with about 2 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. The defense came back out again with a determination of getting the ball right back. A big third down and long pass from the Lions Quarterback got in between 2 Buccaneers defenders, causing the Buccaneers to give up another score, on the next play. We weren't together # 52 Veteran Linebacker John Anderson said. We couldn't get it together when we needed and it was frustrating watching my fellow teammates get down on themselves. # 54 Jesse Cerda and # 40 Eric Zinzer 2 other veterans on the defensive unit were frustrated too. This defense was the baddest defense last year, said Cerda, you couldn't see any player last year get down. We kept the team in a lot games last year, and I don't know what to say now. # 40 Zinzer a Linebacker now, said that their were more penalties against us in this game than all season, it didn't seem fair at all. After all the stats the final count was clearly an outstanding number as the Buccaneers were flaged 3 to 1. That is funny to see and read, said Offensive Coach Ingram. The most staggering thought was that the Lions were playing dirty ball from the start. Our quarterback was hit after every time he released the ball, no flags were thrown, but let one of our defenders get held, or hit the opposing teams quarterback just a second to late or a player get tackled from the opposing team and our player get flagged for unsportmanlike. Is that fair, HELL NO! The referees are suppose to be unbiased professionals, and when you see blatant no calls on the field you have to sit back and say this is what you pay for? Next game the Buccaneers (1-1) (4-2) travel to North Chicago to play the Northern Illinois Cowboys (0-3) Saturday Night 7pm kickoff.

The Bucs fall behind but still Win.
Joliet- The Bolingbrook Buccaneers football team opened their 2007 home opener in a great fashion, with a come from behind win. How exciting said Coach Josha Jackson as he and his players finished the evening out with wind sprints. The team has a goal to focus on, and I want them to focus on that goal, Jackson said. The players respect the fact that after a game either win or lose were gonna run and they look forward to the extra work. The Buccaneers weren't to excited in the early beginning of the game as the watched the Lake Co. Steelers (Indiana) run off with a 14 to nothing lead. The offense had not come to life and the defense hadn't got their feet quite yet; but that was only one half. The second half was a whole other ball game. As the Buccaneers offense came out with a mission, and that mission was to score, and that was just what they did. The first possession of the second half, was capped off with a 30 yard reverse from #12 Demetrius Gibson Wide Receiver who went 37 yards for a touchdown thanks to a great block by quarterback #7 Ron Dube. The score was cut in half 14-6 with a missed extra point, but that didn't stop there for the Buccaneers defense as they got the life, that they needed, held the Steelers on a 3 and out, causing the Steelers to punt the ball away. On the Buccaneers next possession the Buccaneers used their dynamic duo of Medina and Mackessy to move the ball quickly down field. Quarterback # 7 Ron Dube hit one of his favorite targets #85 Nate McCullum for the next Touchdown to get within 2 points. The Buccaneers went for 2 with veteran runningback #24 Michael Ingram scoring and tying the game at 14 all. The Buccaneers didn't stop there as the defense once again held and forced the Steelers 3 and out and made great plays when need. The Buccaneers got the ball back again and the running back threesome moved the ball down the field, scoring on drive was #24 Michael Ingram getting the bucs to jump out in front and never look back. On the next possession the Buccaneers offense led by #28 Alfonzo Medina scored and put the game out of reach with 10 minutes to play in the 4th quarter. The Buccaneers defense was led by #95 DL Kendall Patterson, LB #52 John Anderson and LB # 54 Jesse Cerda. The Buccaneers had one INT and 1 forced fumble, and the defense did what it did all last year stop teams. Buccaneers won 26 -20 with a late last second touchdown pass from Steelers Quarterback. The Buccaneers now 3-2 travel to Downers Grove to play the Leyden Lions on Saturday August 11 7pm.

Let the Regular Season begin!
Joliet- The Bolingbrook Buccaneers Minor League Football Team, will begin its 4th season of operation on the road in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. On Saturday July 28 at 5:00pm; the Bucs who come in to this game with a preseason record of 2-1, are looking to build off their prior preseason success. This years Buccaneers team has made history by being the first team in their short history to start a season out 2-1. We're ready, said Head Coach Mike. We're on our way to getting better, and with every practice and every game we've had the guys are learning to trust one another; Assistant Coach Jackson and Coach Rodriguez both agreed with that statement. Coach Jackson made it clear to his players this week, if they trust one another and they play together and not selfishly, they'll win. Coach Rodriguez has been a around or a while, he has saw the the transition of the players, as going from losing to winning. Coach Rodriguez has said all along that he believes in his front lines that he's been coaching. All the coaches agreed that this team will be more mentally ready for all their games this season, and that their shouldn't be no team that the Buccaneers shouldn't be able to compete with. The season starts today, and if the Buccaneers can do what they have to do. They'll be in the playoffs again for the first time since 2004 season in the defunct Tri-States Football League.

Bucs Defense Pitches Shut Out
Watertown WI - The Buccaneers defense came out this past Saturday afternoon with redemption in their hearts, as they had something to prove to themselves after the overtime loss to the Hawks. The Buccaneers Defense had their time to shine, after # 7 Quarterback Ron Dube hit #12 Wide Receiver Demetrius Gibson for a 70 yard Touchdown Pass. That score put the Bucs up and they never looked back. As the Buccaneers won 28-0, the Defense came out after the score to make it stand. The Buccaneers Defense hurried and deflected, and sacked the Rattlers Quarterback all afternoon. The Rattlers had a couple of chances to score, but were denied by the strong effort of the Buccaneers defense. The Buccaneers defense got back to rare form, of being one of the stingiest defenses in the MSFL last year. The defense record 6 sacks and 1 fumble recovery. Leading the way, # 1 Eric Inostorza, #54 Jesse Cerda, #52 John Anderson, #40 Eric Zinzer, # 25 Dupree Allen, # 55 Matt Layton, #91 Roger Frowner, #95 Kendall Patterson, and #97 Dave Martinez. Defensive Coordinator Hampton was pleased with the effort that his defensive unit had given him this afternoon, but he also said that Assistant Defensive Coordinator Jackson deserves credit too. He's the one that had the job of getting the last game out their heads. Coach Jackson was more than happy about the game, as he saw the defense pitch a shut out, which they had deserved. Head Coach Mike Almodovar was happy with the effort that his defense had done. On the scoring end for the Buccaneers was #11 Wide Receiver Chad Walker with 2 Touchdown Receptions, and #20 Runningback Tim Mackessy with 1 rushing touchdown. The Buccaneers have a week off before the start of the 2007 season. They open up in Ft. Wayne, Indiana aganist the Flyers on July 28. Don't miss the Buccaneers Home Opener on August 4 aganist the Lake County Steelers (Indiana).

Just a little short!
So. Beloit- The Bolingbrook Buccaneers did somthing Saturday night, that they thought they would never do. The Buccaneers found themselves coming from behind not only once, but twice and scoring 20 points in 6 minutes to be exact. In the end the Buccaneers fell to the 2nd year Stateline Hawks 46-40 in overtime. "What a game!" said Head Coach Mike after he was able to seperate his emotions from what he had just witnessed. I never thought in a million years, that I would see these guys battle the way that they did. The Buccaneers offense got on the board first with a 80 yard touch down pass from Quarteback Ron Dube to #89 Tight End Mark Fitts.1st year Assistant Defensive Coordinator Jackson said after the game, he takes all the blame for this loss. Jackson was emotional after the game saying that, this was not the same team he saw on tape, but was happy that this was a wake up call for his defense. The Buccaneers defense had allowed the quarterback to break outside containment for the most part of the game, and was not able to get back with the program. Defensive stand outs #91 Defensive Linemen Roger Frowner recorded 2 sacks and a number of hurries on Stateline Quarterbacks; #25 Dupree Allen, #52 John Anderson all had at least 1 sack or 1/2 sack on Hawks quarterbacks; #40 Eric Zinzer, #7 Eric Taylor and #1 Eric Inostroza all recorded interceptions which were part of the 6 total turnovers tbe Buccaneers defense took from the Stateline Hawks. The Buccaneers had 4 turnovers themselves, which didn't help matters. "You can't win games giving the ball up", said Head Coach Mike. We really have to take care of the ball, but we need to work on our special teams performance, as we gave the opponnet great field position. The Buccaneers had struggled all night with punts and field goals/ PAT's. The Buccaneers missed on 10 points total, giving the bucs a win going away. "You have to think that if we had those points, would the game been in reach", said Offensive Line/Special Teams Coach Adam Rodriguez. The O-Line had another good game, but simple mistakes made a difference. Coach Adam went on to say that this team is better than previous years and the players are hungry for a winning season. Players of the game from the Offense were #20 Running back Tim Mackessy, #28 Running back Alfonzo Medina, #85 Wide Receiver Nate McCullom (3 Touchdowns), #10 back up Quarterback Reggie Mossiette (1 rushing TD and 1 Rec TD). The Buccaneers next Preseason game will be July 14 in Watertown, Wisconsin aganist the River City Rattlers of the WSFL. Kick off is at 5pm.

Worth the Wait
Oneida- The Bolingbrook Buccaneers Football team, kickoff their 2007 season in good fashion with a 27-6 trouncing of the Bay Area Vipers (Green Bay, Wisconsin). The Buccaneers did something they haven't done in 13 games, which was to win and it was the team’s first preseason victory since July of 2004 against the Windy City Dolphins (Chicago). Behind the young strong arm quarterback #7 Ron Dube, threw 4 touchdown passes to three different receivers. Dube threw 2 touchdowns passes, to long time veteran Wide Receiver #12 Demetrius Gibson. Who was just recently activated to the roster from the Chicago Slaughter Indoor Professional Football Team! 2 more Touchdown passes were thrown to Rookie Wide Receiver #85 Nate McCullum. McCullum a former Joliet Township High School star and former St. Francis University player will provide the team with a deep threat presence and make it easier for the running attack. Veteran running back #28 Alfonzo Medina and Rookie running back #20 Tim Mackessy led the way with the rushing attack. The Offensive line was masterful as they only allowed 2 sacks and gave Dube time to find his receivers. After the game Head Coach Michael Almodovar and Offensive Coach Michael Ingram were given a Gatorade shower on behalf of their team. As this win, marks the first win for Head Coach Mike and Staff, and surely this win will not be the last for the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers open their regular season up on July 28 on the road in Ft. Wayne Indiana. The Buccaneers return home the following week, August 4 to play their first home game of the season at Joliet Memorial Stadium, against the Lake Co. Steelers of Indiana. It will also be Youth Football Night for all the local area football teams, as at half-time the Buccaneers organization will be saluting those individuals that take time to teach our youth the meaning of sportsmanship, and team play.

Controlled Scrimmage Not a Loss
Joliet- What an afternoon! The sun was shining, the air was right and football was on the minds of about 40 some odd players of the Bolingbrook Buccaneers; as the prepare for their up coming 2007 season. Players of the Buccaneers gathered at Paul E. Breise Park in Joliet, to play in a controlled scrimmage aganist the Illinois Seahawks. Unforunately, the Buccaneers weren't able to prepare aganist the Seahawks, but that didn't stop the Buccaneers from scrimmaging each other. Fans that were out there, were treated to a little taste of what they will hopefully see this up coming season. The offense had finally came to life behind former Romeoville High School Quarterback Ron Dube; who had connected with another area standout and former Wide Receiver of the Joliet West High School Nate McCulloum. The offense was moving and I'm happy with what I saw, said Head Coach Mike Almoodovar. Our running game has always been our strengh, that has never been our problem, our problem has always been our passing game, Coach Mike replied. Our achilles heal for the las t two seasons has been the consistency with the Quarterback position Coach Mike uttered, with the addition of Dube the Buccaneers feel that they have a chance, to compete week in and week out. The Mid-States Football League (MSFL) has recently placed the Buccaneers in the East Divison for the 2007 season. This same division over the last two season has seen two different Divison Champions, go into the MSFL Title game.

The Buccaneers have their first real test on June 16, as they travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin to take on the Bay Area Vipers of the Wisconsin State Football League. This game will start the Buccaneers preseason, and hopefully be the the test that they need to weather the storm of the past two seasons. As the team has only 1 win in the last 12 games, not a very good record for a 4 year team says coach Mike. This team is due for a win and the players are hungry for that win, as they have been practicing since early January. The Bucaneers first home game will be August 4 at Joliet Memorial Stadium and they will host the Lake Co. Steelers (Indiana). On that night the Buccaneers are promoting Youth Football from around the area, the Buccaneers has invited all the youth football programs out to participate in a night of fun and recongition as the Bucs say thanks to those that volunteer their time to the youth of today.

2006 MSFL All-Stars

Bolingbrook- The 2006 MSFL All-Stars were annouced Monday afternoon, and one name on the list that stood out more than any of the winners, was # 32 Left Cornerback Ramon Smith of the Bolingbrook Buccaneers. This young rookie had a terrific season said Head Coach Almodovar, after hearing word that his young defensive stand out was honored by the league. It was well deserved for a young talented player like Smith, said Coach Mike. He proved to the league and to his peers that you couldn't throw to his side of the field, and he made plays when he had too . Smith who was sixth leading tackler on the Buccaneers defense and had tied another Buccaneer with 2 interceptions for the season, and he had made his mark in a couple games during the season. A Injury to Smith ( High Ankle Sprain ) during the later part of the season, didn't hamper him; allowing him to still play at high level. Smith, 24 year old, former Elgin High School player is a good player," Which will turn into a great player, if he keeps up the good work and does what he needs to to get better", said Defensive Coordiantor Hampton. Was I surprised that he won said Hampton. Not at al!. Was I disappointed that others should have been there with Smith, said Hampton? "Yes, I was", exclaimed Coach Hampton. The Buccaneers are going in to their 4th year, and with success like this only means bigger and brighter things are not that far off, said CEO Sandra J. Geib-Ingram. I am very happy today for Ramon and the Bolingbrook Buccaneers Organization said Geib-Ingram. "As this just shows the league that we have great players on our team", said Geib-Ingram.

2006 Team Awards Banquet

Crest Hill- "I never expected the organization to do what it did for us players" said John Anderson. "I didn't think that the banquet was going to be like this!" said J.P. Carroll. That was the feedback the organization received the entire night at Giovan's Restaurant in Crest Hill , and the snow and ice rain that was coming down outside, was not going to dampen the sprits of the players that were in attendance . Those that were there were in for a treat, as the organization did another outstanding job by putting together another fabulous awards banquet. Sandra Geib-Ingram the CEO of the organization was very pleased with the number of players, family members, and friends that joined together for the evening. She had wished that the weather didn't play a part and that more players could have attended the annual event, but she wasn't going to let that bother her, as the evening wore on. The players were greeted with big surprises as they entered the banquet room as it was filled with music and prizes and another Silent Auction. The Auction was the idea of Katie Rodriguez, Public Relations Director who couldn't attend because she was at home with her 2 day old new born baby girl . So, the theme again was to hold another Silent Auction from the donated gifts that were given to the team on behalf of dozens of business through out the Will County area. The highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony that was toward the later part of the evening. The Weekly Awards were handed out first, and because of time restraints during the season, this makes a perfect time to give out these awards to those deserving individuals. Then came the most important awards, the team awards. Which were voted on by the players on the team this past year. This year's 2006 team awards go to:

Defensive MVP's - John Anderson #52 and Nathan Williams #62

Steering the Ship in an Common Direction

Joliet- What is the new focus of direction for the Buccaneers Football Organization? Is it the new additions to the coaching staff for the 2007 season? No! Is it that the Buccaneers have made it to it's fourth year? No! It must be that the Buccaneers are the only team in the area in the MSFL (MidStates Football League). No! That's not it either. The team has a new direction it's following this year, with the help of the first year Head Coach Mike Almodovar. That new direction is Motivation, Dedication, and Elevation. That is Coach Mike's new motto for the 2007 season. Coach Mike expects nothing less than those three words, out of all his players this year. Coach Mike's motto was something that he had explained to all his players, in their January, 25 team meeting. The focus of the team has to be about the team, said Almodovar. His hands raised and his voice being very steern after his 2 hour meeting with his players. He told us that his job this year is to be a better coach, and to get the team thinking of Wins, and not loses. Players attedning the meeting were very up beat and happy to hear that the coach was taking this up coming season a lot more serious. John Anderson #52 first year starter said, It was nice to see that the coach was being a lot more steern with the players, and that this will separate the mice from the men. Longtime veteran turned coach Adam Rodriquez was more surprised with the turn out of new players. Coach Rodriquez said, that he expects to have a decent number of guys this year, which he will have the opportunity to help develope to good offensive lineman this year. Also, Shane Carroll the former defensive MVP of the 2005 Season, now turned Defensive Line and Linebackers Coach was impressed with the numbers as well, but maintained that we had seen this type of turnout last year, and never seen or heard from some guys either. All coaches agreed that this has to be the year for the Buccaneers Organization, becasue we have to much talent in one spot.

The first game is aganist the Washington Co. Patriots of the Wisconsin State Football League (WSFL). The second game is aganist the Stateline Hawks, also of the WSFL. The team will lock up a third opponent, in the next week or so for a final third preseason game said team official Sandra Geib-Ingram. We are very pleased to have a preseason schedule up and ready for our fans and players that want to know who our opponents are and what they are all about. The team is entering it's 4th year of operation, and is getting more known through out the Will County area, stated Sandra Geib-Ingram. The Buccaneers organization is the first team of it's kind to have a team bus, which has been a huge help to the organization by riding through the Will County area advertising the team. This organization is not all about football, its about family affordable entertainment and that is the key to this organizations success, and for the fans to have fun and come back year after year. WIth sponsorship help coming from local business, one being Miller Lite, the team is excitied about the new 2007 season, and look forwards to hopefully a short off-season.

Force of Illinois 10 Bolingbrook Buccaneers 0

Joliet - The Buccaneers returned home last night to play their last regular season home game of the year. The Buccaneers entered last nights contest (0-7) and looking forward to the 2007 season. Head Coach Almodovar said before last nights game that he was proud of each and every one of his players.Coach Almodovar also said, that he was excited about next season with the talent that he has to work with for the next year. The Buccaneers season has not been one to talk about over the last couple of months; seeing the the Buccaneers has only avg 9 points all season long on offense. The defense has been the brightest spot all season long with excellent play from young rookies like; FS # 40 Eric Zinzer, LB #94 Jesse Cerda, DL #95 Kendall Patterson, CB #32 Ramon Smith, CB #20 David Sunseri, CB Chris Gualano, LB #54 Mike Moyer, DL #37 Roger Frowner, LB #39 Andre Cureton, SS # 7 Eric Taylor and LB #44 Demetrius Robertson. Veteran leads has also stepped up their game by giving the defense an added swagger entering the 2007 season. The Buccaneers can hold their heads up high knowing that tamed one of MSFL elites holding them to only 10 points in a game which was a lot closer than expected. As expected the Buccaneers look forward to recruiting for the 2007 season, and adding to their depth.

9/23/06

Bolingbrook Buccaneers 6 Lake Co. Chiefs 26
North Chicago- The Buccaneers traveled north to take on the divison rival. The objective was to play spoilers for the rest of the season, and with doing so the Buccaneers would use this winning streak to build upon for next season. Coach Mike Almodovar had that to say to his team before the start of the game Saturday night. The Buccaneers weren't able to stop the Chiefs as the drove down the field on their first poessession an never looked back. The Chiefs scored on their first and second poessession in the first quarter putting the game out of reach before the half, but the Buccaneers fought back with about five minutes left in the first half Michael Ingram #24 QB dropped back and threw a 47 yard strike to Chad Walker #11 WR for the first and only score of the game. That sparked the offense but it wasn't enough as the Buccaneers would fall again. After the game, Coach Almodovar was pleased with his team, and commented on the great play of Eric Zinzer #40 FS who had 2 INT's on the night. He was also pleased with the Offense as Will McDuffy led the Buccaneers on the ground with 78 yards. Chris Gualano led the Buccaneers Receiving Corps with 84 Yards on 4 catches. The Buccaneers season Finale will be Saturday night at Joliet Memorial Stadium, the buccaneers host the Force of Illinois.

The Buccaneers came back out in the seocnd half and saw the score go to 20-0, after another big run up the middle for the Patriots. The Bucs weren't going to just lie down and give up that easy. The Buccaneers scored on their first possession in the half, when Troy Allen (7) connected with Chris Gulano (84) for a 41 yard pass, then Allen connected with a another pass to Demetrius Gibson (12) for 34 yards. The Buccaneers offense which had showed life early on, was haulted after a 15 yard unsportmanslike penalty was enforced, casuing a 4th and long and a huge 20 yard sack. The Defense came back out with the time running out, and Ramon Smith (32) forced a fumble and recovered it, giving the Buccaneers new life. With a short field to work with the Bucs capitalize again, this time another Allen (7) to Gibson (12) hook up. This one for 20 yards and the ensuing extra point was good giving the Buccaneers 19 points. With little time remaining, and 2 time-outs and the 2 minute warning left. The Buccaneers defense couldn't hold, allowing the Patriots to get a first down to run out the clock. Afterwards Head Coach Mike said, that he was impressed with the way the offense handled itself, and how the offense rose to the challenge. He was also impressed with his short handed defense, led by veteran Free Saftey Eric Instorza and Veteran Strong Saftey Brandon Shipp who came up big with a fumble on the night. The defense has been the strength to this team so far, but tonight had proven that the offense is ready to step up to the challenge.
