Buccaneers
Fall Again!
Johnson Creek,
WI - As the northern swing of the Buccaneers preseason schedule
came to an end on Saturday afternoon, it was very clear that
this years team is very young, and have a lot to learn in a
short amount of time. The Buccaneers lost to another Wisconsin
team, the River City Rattlers 24-6; in a game which was the
tell of two halfs. The Buccaneers opened the game failing to
move the ball on the first drive behind rookie Quarterback #
7 Daniel Rodgers. Rodgers was entering the game with a strained
hamstring, which he had pulled during practice earlier in the
week. Rodgers was hurried and battered and hit every time he
had dropped back to pass. Rodgers said that he was a little
out of sync due to the hamstring pull, and felt that he wasn't
himself. Rodgers took most of the blame saying that the team
depended on him and he felt as though that he let them down.
The Buccaneers young defense was also battered, as they allowed
the first opposing running back to 100 yards on the ground.
The defense did turn in 2 interceptions in the second half with
one interception recorded by Free Saftey # 2 Dupree Allen and
Rookie Cornerback # 33 Joe Harkins, who also recorded the longest
reception from scrimmage by Rodgers a 45 yard pass on the afternoon.
Head Coach Joshua Jackson was pleased again with the outcome
of the second half, but not the first half of the game. Jaskson
told his players after the game to hold their heads up, they
had nothing to be down about. Jackson said, "My goal is
simple, I don't care alot about preseason; I care about one
thing and one thing only and that is to win the MSFL Championship".
The Buccaneers return to action on Saturday July 12 aganist
the Chicago Grizzlies at Steinmetz High School, Chicago, IL.
Buccaneers
Lose First Preseason Game of 08
Oneida- New
Head Coach Joshua Jackson was upbeat with smiles at the conclusion
of the game this past Saturday afternoon. As they opened their
2008 season campaign, Coach Jackson witnessed his 2007 Mid States
Football League Eastern Conference Champions lose to the Bay
Area Vipers Football Team out of Green Bay, Wisconsin 19-6.
The Buccaneers fell behind early, but were still in the game
with good field positioning from the help of the defense. The
Bucs Defense was on the field for the most part of the game,
but was able to get a handle on the Vipers in the second half
not allowing them to score the remainder of the game. The Bucs
Defense was lead by former JCA Standout #3 Linebacker Anthony
Andrews, former Plainfield South standout #34 Linebacker Blake
Rodgers and # 97 Defensive linemen Dallas Kelly former Joliet
Township player. The offense showed signs of life throughout
the game from Veteran Runningback #24 Michael Ingram who had
finished the game with 90 yards rushing on 16 carries and 1
fumble and Veteran Fullback #40 Kirk Flowers added 25 yards
and 1 fumble. The lone score was setup by two rookies # 7 Quarterback
Daniel Rodgers and # 33 Wide receiver Joseph Harkins. Rodgers
threw a 54 yard pass to Harkins who was held by a Vipers Defensive
back in the end-zone causing a penalty and placing the ball
at the one yard line. Three plays later Rodgers dove in for
6 points. Head Coach Jackson said "This game was a moral victory,
as we played better in the second half than we did in the first
half. This was a great game for us, so now we know where we
stand. We still have a lot to do, but I see us going full circle
back to where we finished last year in the Championship Game."
The Buccaneers will be holding a car wash fund-raiser this Saturday,
June 21 at Citizens Financial Bank, 310 S. Weber Road in Bolingbrook
from 10am-2pm. The Buccaneers will be out washing cars, signing
autographs and taking pictures with the fans. The next preseason
battle will be Saturday, June 21 at Watertown, Wisconsin against
the River City Rattlers; last year the Buccaneers beat the Rattlers
28-7.

at our games. The organization had been courting Mr. Ladas for
over a year, and had known with his support and help the organization
would be moving in a different direction for years to come.

Controlled
Scrimmage with the Seahawks.
Joliet-
I am proud of you guys said Head Coach Joshua Jackson. It was
a afternoon of great excitement and hard hitting on both sides;
as 2 Chicagoland Football Teams battled it out on a cool April
afternoon at Paul E. Briese Park in Joliet. The Illinois Seahawks
out of the Lake Michigan Football League (LMFL) came out to
get a work out in preparation for their first preseason game
on May 3 in So. Beloit, IL aganist the Beloit Titans. Jackson
said after the controlled scrimmage that he was impressed with
the Linebackers and Defensive Backs. They all showed up and
played very well. Newcomers # 54 Bobby White, # 55 Shannon Love,
# 56 Joe Long and # 52 Damien Frazier look to be the future
of the middle for the Buccaneers Linebacker Crops. As # 33 Joe
Harkins, # 1 Israel Palencia, # 10 Julio Galindo and Veteran
FS # 2 Dupree Allen look to patrol the skies of the secondary.
Offensively, the Buccaneers look to their veteran offensive
line that was good last year, and with the return of a healthy
# 59 Adam Rodiguez, and the stellar play of veteran # 57 Robert
Earl Leasure, and Rookie # 58 Eric Spangler and # 76 Russ Saley.
The Buccaneers look to get the stables in order with Veteran
RB # 24 Michael Ingram leading the rushing attack. Jackson did
say that he was undecided with the quarterbacks that he has,
and that a decision as far as the starter wouldn't come to easy.
Buccaneers
Kick off the 2008 Season with Tryouts
Joliet-
As the season approaches, the Buccaneers are off and running
and are ready to defend their Eastern Conference Title. The
Buccaneers held their tryouts/practice at Paul E. Briese Park
in Joliet on April 6 and 13 and the numbers looking good for
New Head Coach Joshua Jackson. I was impressed with what I had
seen and I saw a lot of potential, and a lot of heart from guys
that were here, said Coach Jackson. A lot of these guys coming
out here either played organized ball or played at a high level
and we're going to depend on the vets to get some of these guys
up to speed said Jackson. My job is not to teach athleticism,
my job is to teach you how to win. The Buccaneers organization
is coming off it's best season in the history of the organization
going 8-4 and making an appearance in the MSFL League Championship
Game. The team's motto for the 2008 is "Unfinished Business",
but the goal is to make another trip to the Championship Game.
I see us losing games which we should have won, and winning
games which we should have lost, said Coach Jackson. I still
think we're going to be fine though, we've got a lot of time
before the first preseason game. The Buccaneers kick off their
5 season on the road on July 26 and return home on August 2
to face the Lafayatte (Indiana) Lions.
Congrats
and Good Luck All-Stars at Casino Bowl XIII
Joliet- Congratulations
go out to the Buccaneers 4 All-Stars in their trip to the Annual
Casino Bowl XIII in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Buccaneers will be
represented by 1st year Tackle # 58 Eric Spangeler, 3 year Veteran
Guard # 57 Robert Earl Leasure, 2 Year Veteran Defensive Linemen
# 95 Kendall Patterson, and 10 Year Returning Veteran and 2
time Returning Veteran of Casino Bowl VI # 24 Michael Ingram.
This will mark the first year the Bolingbrook team has sent
players to the annual event, which marks the premeir All-Star
Game for East and West Coast players in Semi-Pro/Minor League
Football. This is a great honor for me to be selected to represent
not only myself, but my teammates and the Buccaneers Football
Organization said Robert Earl Leasure. Eric Spangler the new
comer to the team, was excited about the opportunity to represent
the Buccaneers Organization, and said that last year was a good
season for him. Not only did the team make a trip to the Eastern
Conference Championship; the team played in its first league
championship game, thats a great accomplishment for the team
and me. Kendall Patterson had witnessed the team excel this
past season, in what we called a dream come true Patterson said.
Patterson who had made the MSFL Honorable Mention Team for the
first time, was excited and overwhelmed with the oppotunity
to show case his talents. These guys deserve this opportunity
said Sandra Geib-Ingram, they have worked very hard to be where
there at now. The Casino Bowl was established in 1995 by Cheri
Kardas and Jim Nugent former owners of the Will Co.(IL) Buccaneers.
Their goal was to build an elite football game like no other,
and doing so they have built what is considered by most the
Premeir All-Star Game of the season. Being a elder states man
for the Casino Bowl, its always an honor and priviledge to be
considered one of the best in the country, said Michael Ingram.
I hope that next year we have more players from our team to
go out there and represent us (Buccaneers) and the MSFL.
Buccaneers
Welcome Orthopedic Surgeon to the Staff
Bolingbrook-
The 2008 season is off to a great start for the 2007 MSFL Eastern
Conference Champions Bolingbrook Buccaneers, as they welcome
Dr. Ketan V. Mody, MD Orthopedic Surgeon to their Staff. Dr.
Mody comes highly recommended and is very excited about working
with the organization. He's part of the Hinsdale Orthopedic
Family and has his own practice. "It's a honor to be a
part of this up and coming organization," said Dr. Mody.
Head Athletic Trainer Brian Slinde had spoken very highly of
the organization and it's ability to keep young men striving
for their dreams, so I thought why not be a part of an up and
coming minor league football team said Mody. Dr. Mody will be
roaming the sidelines of all the games, along with the Occu-Sport
Training Staff. It's going to be very nice nice working with
these young men and trying to keep them on the field, but also
making sure that they know the options of what's going on with
their injuries. As we all know injuries are a part of this game,
and the main objective is to try and protect each player, but
at the same time make those players aware that this is only
a game and their health is more important said Dr. Mody. Welcome
Dr. Ketan V. Mody to the Buccaneers family!
Defensive
Coach Joshua Jackson Moves into the Position as Head Coach
Bolingbrook-
It was announced today that the 2007 Eastern Conference Champions
Bolingbrook Buccaneers won't waste time filling the void for
a new Head Coach. The vacancy came during the middle of the
Buccaneers stretch run for the Eastern Conference Championship
Title.
Joshua Jackson will be the 4th Head Coach in the Buccaneers
short history. It was apparent that we (Buccaneers) had a leader
on the field, and on the sidelines with Defensive Coach Joshua
Jackson said CEO Sandra Geib-Ingram. The players responded well
with him early on, and he made himself available to those that
wanted to get better. That was my same exact impression of Jackson,
when he first came out, said President Michael Ingram. He always
kept it real with the players, and that's what you have to have
with your players. Jackson is no stranger to the minor league
football world, as he is a former player with an impressive
background leading back to his high school days at Proviso East
and even to college at Mississippi State and then on to semi-professional
with Chicago Chargers where he won a National Championship in
1999 and later with the Illinois Firehawks . A former Head Coach,
and owner of the Maywood Gators Semi -Professional Football
Team, Jackson has what it takes to coach a football team said
Michael Ingram, as it showed this past season. His ability to
be a leader came when it was needed and that is why we rewarded
Jackson with the Head Coach Title. My words in the beginning
to the players have never changed and will never change, said
Jackson. My goal was to help the Buccaneers get over the hump
as being losers, and I think the other coaches (Rodriguez and
Ingram) and I did just that, with an Eastern Conference Championship
under our belts and a trip to the MSFL Title Game. The only
regret that I have is the fact that we didn't win the MSFL title
game, said Jackson, but with great success you have to take
the lumps along the way. The Buccaneers lost to the Chicago
Thunder 36-7, in what was a great football game Jackson exclaimed!
Not one of the players gave up, they gave it their all and their
all showed at the end. When the CEO and President of the team
were handed the Eastern Conference Trophy & Runner-Up Trophy
said Jackson, it was more emotional for me, that I couldn't
get the job done the way that I wanted. Jackson went on to say
that he has a new focus, which is to make the Buccaneers MSFL
Champions and AA National Champions someday in the future. This
season had marked the first year the Buccaneers had a winning
record, and made the play offs since their first year in the
TSFL (Tri-State Football League). The Buccaneers lost first
round to the eventual Champions the Leyden Lions. The future
in Bolingbrook / Joliet looks brighter these days, as we look
forward to more Buccaneers Championships. Stay tuned for more
upcoming 2008 coaching announcements.
